Gopnik joins Ocean Conservancy

The Ocean Conservancy is pleased to announce the addition of Morgan Gopnik as Senior Vice President for Conservation. Morgan will lead the organization in the execution of its four strategic priorities – Restoring Sustainable American Fisheries, Conserving Special Ocean Places, Reducing Marine Wildlife Entanglement, and Reforming Government for Better Ocean Stewardship – while overseeing other emerging programs.

Most recently, Gopnik served as Senior Advisor to the U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy, where she led a team in producing its 600-page final report, released in September 2004. The Commission provided over 200 detailed recommendations for improving the management of our coastal and ocean environment, greatly raising the visibility of marine issues.
