Endangered whales still in Bay of Fundy

Several endangered North Atlantic Right whales are lingering in the Bay of Fundy, well beyond the time they usually head for warmer waters causing concern for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

The department has issued a request to boaters and fishermen, who are heading into lobster season, to be aware of the whales’ unexpected presence and take the necessary precautions.

Experts estimate there are only about 350 of them left.
