Plans to build a marine conservation centre in north county Dublin have been axed due to a shortfall of over e1.65 million in funding for the project.
It was hoped that the facility would become a tourist attraction but the project was found to be unviable by Fingal County Council.
As a result, the proposed e3 million in capital funding from the council is not included in its three-year capital programme.
