Their vivid colours rival those found in tropical waters but this is not the Red Sea or the Great Barrier Reef.
These are creatures living in a marine nature reserve around Skomer, an island off the west coast of Wales.
The Skomer Marine Nature Reserve, one of only three in British waters, recently celebrated its 20th anniversary and the Countryside Council for Wales hosted a photographic competition for divers. The reserve is a popular destination for sub-aqua clubs as its protected waters are rich in marine life.
