Looe, United Kingdom (Great Britain)

Awesome, my first UK dive. I was amazed at how much life was there just crawling around. From baby cuttlefish to metre long dogfish. My spot of the night though had to be a spiny crab amoung the kelp, he was very large and was only gave himself away when the underside of his claw flashed white toward me. Great dive all in around 5 meters of water.

South Point, Malaysia

Last dive at South Point and it was like stampede at the OK Carale! Everyone was trying to find hammerheads!! Descended slowly to 38m and finned out into the blue. Nothing! Stayed there for 20 mins just looking around – still nothing!! Too many divers I think. Finned back to reef wall and made way up slowly, Nice coral, turtles, clown trigger, octopus. Easy dive. Shame about the hammerheads.

Dropped off boat in the rain! Very cloudy and dark. Viz not as good as it has been. Descended to 33, down wall and drifted (right shoulder). Saw a Manta buzzing the reef above us at about 20m. Ascended up the wall – lovely corals, big seafans and large turtles!! Lots of reef fish and beautiful coral at about 5m. Great dive!!

Barracuda Point, Malaysia

Last dive in Sipadan … and back to Barracuda Point! Current quite light for a change and we descended down the reef wall to about 30m. Finned into the blue with reef just visible on right shoulder. No barrucda today! Found a really nice Octopus on the bottom and a huge lobster by its side. Slowly ascended up wall. Lovely seafans and soft coral and on top of wall – life just bloomed! Reef fish everywhere, beautiful coral, white tips, travalis and of course – the turltes. A truly magical place Sipadan – must go again one day…
