Ponce De Leon, FL, United States of America

This is a nice comercially developed spring. It includes a very deep cave that I didn’t explore. The cave mouth is at 55 feet and the cave extends below 110 feet. Fresh water eels near the mouth of the cave and a snapping turtle were interesting. The water stays 68 degrees year round. A 3 mm wetsuit was not quite enough for a comfortable dive. This is a great training dive. This site is used for classes frequently.

Lima Rock (North Side), Oman

Stunning island with beautiful yellow and purple coral and many shoals. Incredible visibility, especially given the storm above. It had been rumoured the vis was excellent here but we had not believed it. We put the anchor down too far away from the island and descended to 29 metres (can go down to 60m here as shelving) and swam back in to average 22 metres for the dive. The island is protected so can be dived in bad sea conditions. Saw a beautiful feathertail stingray and Mario filmed him swimming away.
