shark fining close to a turtle sanctuary

A wonderful pair of dives! We were even lucky enough to see a Hawksbill Turtle.

Trapiche – in front of Submarine Dive

Saw seabream, Nudibranch (Polycera quadrilineata), red starfish, rainbow wrasse, sea cucumber, hermit crab.

Last dive of this trip. Dropped of Dhoni in big swell. Couldn’t see reef at first – bad viz on surface from plankton. Finned towards reef and then left shoulder to 25m depth. White tip reef shark, Napoleon Wrasse, Shooling snappers. Mostly hard corals and good reef life nearer surface 8-5m. Nice Dive

Dropped onto reef and finned left shoulder to 30m plateau. White tips, grey reef shark, napoleon wrasse and schooling jacks and bannerfish. Made our way back up reef and got a manta on the safety stop. Brilliant!

Dropped onto reef with Bob and Angela. Down to 27m and explored overhang. Viz not great with a lot of plankton in the water. Green Turtle, lionfish and tuna. Lovely soft and hard corals nearer the surface at 10m. Nice Dive!

Last dive on Sheena. Dropped onto reef and finned right shoulder to sandy ledge. 2 white tips on way and juvenile eagle ray. Sting ray in sand. Hassan showed us his ‘friendly’ honeycombe moray. Got some great video (now on Youtube). Schooling snappers; white tips; grey reef sharks; schooling bannerfish and cashmere snappers. Left ridge at 60 bar to do a current safety stop. Lovely dive!

Dropped onto reef and finned left shoulder to 30m shelf to face incoming current through the channel. White tips; grey reef sharks (about 20); eagle rays; schooling jacks; tuna; 2 fantail stingrays and a turtle!! Went into deco and then made way up slowly in very strong current. Finished a bit low on air! Amazing dive!

Dropped onto reef and finned left shoulder to channel. Saw Napoleon Wrasse on way (x2). Finned down to ledge across channel. Incoming current. White tips, grey reef sharks, jacks, tuna, 15-20 eagle rays. Made way up reef after hitting deco. Did safety at highest point with rock hook. Current was blasting. Nice facelift!!
