Padi OW 1

A new dive recommended by Abdullah Hall. A small rock appears above water at D6. We dropped off the boat on the east side and followed the wall (left shoulder). Sandy bottom. Nice coral, Lionfish, Morays, Clownfish. Many discarded nets in some cases many metres long. One was draped across lots of rocky outcrops and completely covering them. The dive became very dramatic towards the end of the dive with big walls – leads into ‘Garden of Eden’ dive site.

Last dive in the Daymaniyat Islands!!..and spotted 5 Manta Rays just before safety stop! Brilliant

Jumped east of a rock in Kasmai Islands – never been dived before. Lots of discarded nets and new nets. Saw Morays, lionfish and an amazing wall with puple coral growth to the west. A Few turtles around which was good!

Last time in Oman – Great Dive

At last! Police Island .. sea is very calm. Boat ride 1hr 10 min from Al Sawadi. Only 8 divers. Dropped off boat and descended to 12m. Followed reef wall on right shoulder down to 20 m. Viz was best so far in these islands. Big rays, loads of reef fish and beautiful coral in good condition. Excellent dive

Second dive of the day. Viz not so good. Lovely wall with steep wall overhangs, caves and swim-tru’s. Saw 2 turtles, free swimming Moray, absolutely beautiful Cuttlefish and a big Ray on the sandy bottom. Two Belgium divers tried sticking a snorkel in a morays mouth. Tracey, bless her, told him on the surface, that if he tries that again she would shove her tank up his arse! Go on girl!

I did an earthdive science log on this trip and checked for sharks, lobsters, butterfly fish, spiny sea urchins and groupers. Spotted 3 beautiful cuttlefish on the safety stop.

Very calm sea and dropped in and decended to about 12m. Shallow dive with reef right shoulder. Saw 3 turtles and many big morays. Big tuna passed by up in the shallows. Found a fishing net full of reef fish. Mohammed shedded it and let everything out! Good to see. Nice Dive. Very easy

Pretty dive site, nice wall with coral overhangs and caves. One big cave with a rock boulder balanced on top – hence ‘mousetrap’. Saw 2 sets of 2 big morays. Down the wall on first part of dive and along the top on return. Nice dive, moderate viz – came up under boat.
